Superior quinoa varieties

The Quinoa Company offers a diverse portfolio of non bitter quinoa varieties, known as LoQal™. Each variety has his own unique agronomic traits and food quality characteristics. This diversity has enabled us to expand the production of quinoa to new territories worldwide and to diversify its food applications. Ultimately, the varieties are the thread that unites growers, food processors and consumers looking to establish local quinoa chains tailored to local demands.

In close collaboration with Wageningen University and Research, The Quinoa Company aims to reach two main goals:

  • Improving nutritional and processing traits quality for food companies and consumers
  • Improving yield and yield stability for farmers worldwide, such that it becomes an attractive crop to replace current staple crops and increase crop diversity
